10 of the Best Soup Recipes for the New Year

The Winter winds have been whipping through bringing the temps down, making it perfect weather for soup.  Soup is simple and nourishing and a great way to use up leftovers.  I've compiled a list of my best soup recipes so you will have a ready list of soups that will make dinner easy and nutritious.

Another reason I love soups is that not only is it a one pot dinner, but you will have leftovers that make a quick and delicious lunch the next day!  And to make it more of a complete meal - don't forget a slice a homemade bread on the side.

If you're looking for bread recipes to accompany your soup then I've got you covered there too.

10 of the Best Soup Recipes

1.  https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2012/09/fall-fest-pork-kale-and-white-bean-soup.html

When I first started my blog many years ago I was able to participate in blog hops with Food Network and one of the topics was kale.  I'm not a big kale fan but when it's cooked in soup it tasted pretty good and adds lots of nutrition too!

2.https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2011/12/easy-new-england-clam-chowder.html

One of my absolute favorite soups is Clam Chowder -- New England style of course.  It's another simple and delicious soup made with pantry staples.

3. https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2015/03/bean-soup-crock-pot-style.html

Ham and beans have never been one of my favorite things but when you have a huge ham with a bone it seems like ham and bean soup is the logical answer.  Just beware- this recipe makes a huge pot so be ready for leftovers.

4.https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2024/01/looking-for-filling-hearty-winter-soup.html

Stuffed Green Pepper soup is a family favorite.  Rich, hearty and filling!  Not to mention simple and delicious.

5. https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2016/01/pressure-cooker-chicken-tortilla-soup.html

This recipe is made in the Instant Pot.  Don't have one, that's okay - it can also be made on the stovetop.  Another tummy warming soup with some Mexican flavors.

6.  https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2012/02/5-ingredient-greek-chicken-rice-soup.html

Chicken makes the best base for any soup in any flavor profile.  But this Greek style soup turns simple chicken into a gloriously delicious meal.  And the addition of eggs makes it creamy with NO DAIRY!

7. https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2025/11/classic-chicken-noodle-soup.html

Here it is!  The one, the only, the classic - Chicken Noodle Soup. It's a classic for a reason.  It's simple, delicious and satisfying.  It's good for what ails you.

8. https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2024/01/easy-vegetable-soup-simple-and-delicious.html

I call this soup - cleaning out the fridge soup.  Let's be real, lots of us buy veggies and they sit in the produce draw or what my friend calls her "draw of good intentions."  Take those veggies and throw them into the soup pot.  Simmer it and dish it up.  You just can't beat vegetable soup.

9.  https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2011/11/thanksgiving-starter-curried-pumpkin.html

Pumpkin soup?  Yes!  And it's not just for Thanksgiving.  It would be perfect to have with a roast chicken Sunday Supper or even after a day of sledding and snowball fights.

10. https://creatingfrommycorner.blogspot.com/2011/10/tummy-warming-corn-chowder.html

This Corn Chowder recipe has a Mexican twist.  Perfect for curling up in front of a fire after a cold and blustery day.

That's the list.  I hope you find one that you'd like to try and if you do, please leave a comment and let me know how you liked it.  Also feel free to share your favorite soup recipe and....
